Gr. 8 Blog:
SJC+Leadership/Volleyball
A lot of things have happened these past weeks, but the
highlight of the month is SJC and Leadership. My friend and I signed up for
Social Justice and Leadership committee, and we both got in. In this
organization we plan events that are both helpful and raise money for people in
need. We will be participating in things like soup kitchen and the Winnipeg
Harvest. So far we have planned a Christmas in October, which is like a spirit
week, in order for us to send money to our Sponsor child. Each theme will have
a related activity that will be held in the afternoon. Everyone in Junior High
is welcomed to participate, as long as you pay two dollars at the beginning of
the week. This is what is going on in SJC and Leadership.
Another highlight of these past weeks for me is volleyball.
During the second week, we had tryouts and practices so that out coaches, Mrs.
Langstaff and Ms. Teetaert could see who made it into Competitive or
Developmental. After a few days, the competitive team was chosen, and
thankfully, I made it. We have had four practices so far, on Wednesdays and
Tuesdays. We were given our schedules for our games and our first game is on
October 7th at Linden Christian. I really hope that this volleyball
season will be good.
